Artist's description: A spring sketching trip to Unalaska in the Aleutians gave me the opportunity to make a sketch that resulted in this painting

Any father who has been to sea knows that feeling

creating a whole new portrayal

and the observant may note the hook that tug use to catch their barges' towing bridles should the tow cable break

SKIFF #2 Killer whale Artist's description: A spring sketchingPrint size: 13" x 9 3 8" Jumper! This is a power skiff towing in the deep, and it looks like they've got a few! In the distance is the big boat towing the other end of the net, which is set out behind them in a "U" shape. The skiff man is watching carefully for signals or trouble, and listening for instructions on his headset. The skiff is powered with a Cummins 6BT, one of my personal favorite skiff engines.
