Antique 19thC English Pine Lambing Chair Hall Bench Settle With Drawer 1860 Sold the mallet shaped bodies withA good antique 19th century English pine country lambing chair or bench settle, circa 1860. These highbacked chairs were used by farmers or shepherds during lambing season and were designed to shield the farmers from the freezing winds. This chair having a carved top crest and high sided panels to keep out the wind, the back with two inset panels, to the side are curved armrests.
